The 7/7/7 Challenge

Thanks so much for nominating me for this challenge Stacey Campbell – a fellow writer who has a lovely blog on navigating this writing journey and all the book reading that comes along with it :-). Writers – check her site out!

Guidelines for the 7/7/7 challenge:

  • Go to page 7 of your WIP (Work in Progress)
  • Scroll down to line 7
  • Share the next 7 sentences in a blog post.
  • After the excerpt tag 7 other writers (or however many you’re able to) to continue the challenge.

From my current WIP – Palace of Moonlight

Quick description:

Maignee is a blade smith with too many secrets, and too many sons who are overly curious about those secrets. Her second son Partho, the MC of Palace of Moonlight, apprentices in her forge. Maignee reflects on the double life she keeps from him and their whole family as she closes up shop for the night and leaves.

The excerpt:

Maignee slipped on her cloak without another glance back and exited their shop – Crossed Blades Forge, the finest maker of blades in all Cralsiton. And since Cralsiton was the capital city and boasted the best their kingdom had to offer, it could be considered the top blade forge in all of Narangeth.

Not that she ought to keep track. This was only her second profession, and now it was time to shed the blacksmith side. Tomorrow she would return to the forge with Partho, and they would pretend once again that nothing was amiss. Tonight, however, she had a far more dangerous line of work to fulfill. Only when she had fulfilled those duties would she be able to return home to her family, and so Maignee Moonseeker wasted little time gliding away into the night.

My two nominations (sorry I don’t have more)! Share a 7/7/7 of your current WIP:
